Abstract

Rapid urban growth and territorial transformations pose major challenges in terms of development, governance, and planning. Massive urbanization, spatial inequalities, pressure on infrastructure, and environmental and social issues are reshaping territorial balances and require adapted and innovative responses.

This edition offers an in-depth analysis of urban and territorial issues, drawing on multidisciplinary approaches from economics, geography, sociology, and political science. The objective is to examine ongoing transformations in urban and rural areas, questioning development models, public policies, and adaptation strategies in response to contemporary challenges.

Contributions are invited to explore various themes: urban fragmentation, access to essential services, mobility and transportation, gentrification, urban resilience to climate and economic crises, and new forms of territorial governance. Particular attention is given to the interactions between global dynamics and local realities, as well as innovative solutions aimed at making territories more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient.
