Abstract

The aim of this paper is to examine the relationship between humble project team leadership and the success of international development projects, incorporating organizational learning as a mediating variable. This research is based on a database collected via a questionnaire from 106 members of international development project teams in Senegal. The variance-based structural equation method, including the partial least squares (PLS) approach, was used to test the research hypotheses. The results of this study revealed that humble team leadership is positively related to the success of international development projects. Furthermore, organizational learning plays a mediating role in the relationship between humble team leadership and the success of international development projects. Finally, this study presents an original perspective on the role of humble team leadership in project success and the impact of organizational learning.

Keywords: Organizational learning, team humility, international development projects, project success.
