Digitalisation et transition énergétique dans la région MENA : quelles dynamiques ?

Résumé

Cette étude examine l’effet de la digitalisation sur la transition énergétique dans 18 pays de la région MENA sur la période 2000-2023, ce qui constitue un panel de 432 observations (N = 18, T = 24). Nous construisons un indice composite de digitalisation à partir des abonnements mobiles, de la pénétration d’Internet et des abonnements au haut débit fixe, puis estimons des modèles de panel à effets fixes deux voies avec erreurs-types de Driscoll--Kraay ; des effets aléatoires et un test de Hausman sont mobilisés en robustesse. Les résultats montrent qu’une intensification de la digitalisation est associée, toutes choses égales par ailleurs, à une hausse statistiquement significative de la part des énergies renouvelables dans la consommation finale.
