Despite the growing diffusion of electronic payment instruments, cash remains the dominant means of payment in Morocco, raising questions about the role of sociodemographic characteristics in individuals' payment behaviors. This article analyzes cash usage by focusing on sociodemographic characteristics. The analysis is based on data from a questionnaire survey conducted among 638 banked individuals who are responsible for their household's financial decisions, and it is carried out using a binary logistic regression model. The results indicate that cash usage is closely linked to individuals' sociodemographic profiles, highlighting a marked heterogeneity in payment behaviors within the Moroccan population. The study contributes to a better understanding of the sociodemographic determinants of cash usage and provides useful insights for designing policies aimed at promoting an inclusive and gradual adoption of electronic payment instruments.
